Wulong or Oolong Tea?
Posted by GuestPoster in Food & Drink
Wulong tea seems to have become the latest natural caffeinated beverage to become overcome by a long stream of hype and hoopla over weight loss. In an odd bit of semantics, the salesmen use wulong or wu long instead of the more common and appropriate oolong label for this tea.
Perhaps it is the alliteration. You have your wulong for weight loss. I can see how that might be a bit more catchy than oolong for weight loss.
Either way you should understand that wulong tea is not some kind of miracle diet solution. It, in fact, is just another form of tea derived from the Camellia sinensis plant. It is a little less oxidized than black tea but quite a bit more oxidized than green tea (both teas which also derive from Camellia sinensis).
All these teas are loaded with healthful antioxidants and catechins, but despite any hype you may read none of them will make you skinny overnight. They can, however, help you lose weight… as long as you also exercise and eat right.
