Why Your Family Should Buy an Igloo Dog House

There is a huge market in dog houses today with so many families owning a dog and a large proportion of those also owning a dog kennel. In some ways all this choice can actually make it harder to choose which kennel you would like. The first thing that you should do, before settling on which one to buy, is to go to a local pet store and look at the different sizes and styles available. This will give you a general idea of what you want. If you are someone who is interested in the design and look of things then an igloo dog house is the one for you.
These dog homes have been modeled on the Inuit igloos found in the Arctic. They are formed by a dome like living quarters with a long tunnel leading into them. The design helps to contain warmth and a dog igloo will also have an added layer of special insulating foam to make it even cozier. The better quality dog houses will also have a slightly suspended floor allowing a layer of warm air to form beneath it rather that conducting the cold straight up from the ground.
The fact that these dog houses are constructed of plastic also makes it so easy to clean that one of the children could do it! Hair and bits of debris can be washed out easily with a hose or bucket.
There are two types of igloo style dog house: indoor and outdoor. The outdoor ones have more insulation, a door to keep out the weather and tend to be a little larger. Both types also often have a place to fix a water bowl on the outside, which makes it impossible for your dog to knock over his drink so there is no risk of him going thirsty.
