People all across the world do not get their proper dosing of vitamin K foods. These foods are vital to the normal everyday functions our bodies perform. Vitamin K is very important because it allows the blood to clot. When people get hurt and they need their blood to clot vitamin K is the main vitamin that allows for coagulation to make the blood clot. If you did not have vitamin K to make the blood clot than you are at higher risk for bleeding. Families love their vitamin K food because it keeps everybody healthy and if they were to get into an accident where they start to bleed the vitamin K keeps the blood so it is able to clot so they do not bleed to death.

The types of vitamin K foods include but are not limited to olives, spinach, broccoli, potatoes, soy beans, green vegetables and green tea are all qualified vitamin K foods. There is also research that could confirm whether or not vitamin K also plays a role in the mineralization of bones. Mixed together with vitamin D, there is a small possibility that this is the case. This is the reason scientists think that vitamin K may also help in preventing osteoporosis. Vitamin K can be used as a supplement to aid in deficiency in infants because when infants are first born they do not have enough bacteria to produce vitamin K naturally.

Some causes of vitamin K deficiency include bleeding disorders, things like nose bleeds, blood in your urine, and heavy menstrual bleeding. So why do families really love vitamin K? Because not only is it healthy, but a lot of the foods that contain vitamin K can be mixed and blended with cooking for things like dinner and lunch. Meat smokers are great for cooking meats that can be garnished with leafy greens that contain high amounts of vitamin K.
