Why should you look at glass top coffee tables over the wood version? Probably the easiest answer is: Why not one of each? Many homes today have two separate living spaces that both could benefit from a coffee table. A glass coffee table and wood one can definitely exist within the same house. Many homes have traditional aspects as well as more modern ones so both have their place. Wood coffee tables are definitely good pieces. Many times, they will have a more rustic appearance and go nicely in rooms that have a more earthy or neutral decor. Just remember that you have to think about messing up the paint or stain on them and they could chip at one time or another. One down side to a wood coffee table is that if it breaks, you will need to get another table altogether. With a glass one, you can just buy a new glass top.
