What You Should Do To Prepare For Laser Hair Removal

Posted by in Personal Improvement

The first and most important recommendation that I can make is for you to take the time to consult with your laser hair removal practitioner and get an answer to all your questions about all the aspects of hair removal. The best client is the most informed one.

Not all clinics, and not all practitioners will be equal. Training is of utmost importance in this field. The person who will perform the procedure on you should be well trained and know his/her laser very well as not all lasers are equal.

Some do’s and don’ts to prepare for your laser hair removal

You should have had an interview with the doctor and discussed all medical conditions that you have, it not then make sure to divulge all medical information on the questionnaire you will undoubtably have to fill out.

Inform the doctor if you ever had any acne treatment in the last 6 months.
Shave closely, just before the procedure.
Wear light color clothing and under garments near the area to be treated.
Plan on the fact that some redness will be present in the treated area, so that might impede on some of your activities, in the hours following the procedure. (This is particularly important if your are have hair removed from the upper lip.)

Do not wear any deodorant if you are having your underarms done.
Do not wear any lotion, or creams, near the area where the laser will be applied.
