It is always a good idea to maintain the cleanliness of your house and area so as to lower down the likelihood those wasps will settle in. Garbage containers should be cleaned after its contents are disposed. Normally, wasps are lured to settle within the vicinity of your house because they can find a good source of food nearby. Overflowing garbage containers are good source of food for the wasps. Regular inspection of your walls, especially those that are made of wood, will let you detect any initiation of wasp infestations.
Destroying the nest is the only way to remove the wasp nest. There are plenty of ways to that but one of the most effective way is to pour a gallon of diesel fuel or kerosene over the wasp nest. If you do it when the wasps are away from the nest, probably during day time, the wasps will abandon that nest and will look for another place to build their nest in. But if you plan on killing the wasps and also destroy their nest, then you should probably do it at night where the wasps are resting peacefully inside their nest. Quickly pour the gallon of diesel fuel or kerosene over the wasp nest and quickly wrap it with a wet cloth. Fumes from the fuel or kerosene will eventually kill the wasps inside.
