Vacationing in the Hamptons
Posted by GuestPoster in -Travel
Many people consider the Hamptons to be a relatively exclusive “the place to be” summer getaway. It is true there are plenty of places there that cater to the well to do in this area of Long Island. Big houses for rent. Fancy shops. Expensive restaurants. There is also another side to the area too.
Fisherman and farmers live and make their living in the Hamptons, and some fairly oblivous to the summer visitors that fill the small hamlets and towns. There are also a few state parks, with campgrounds, that offer something different than the more expensive home rentals or hotels. You could visit during the day and stay a little west of the area at night. This is a little less fun than having a 20,000 square foot rental home across the street from the beach but it can still be enjoyable and relaxing.
The important point is to realize the Hamptons is a diverse area, in terms of what it offers visitors, and you can find things to do there even if you are on a limited budget. So don’t do like many others are apt to do, when they all assume they should not consider planning their Hampton vacations.
