Use A Soft Guitar Case To Give Your Guitar A Bit Of Protection

Posted by in Hobbies and Crafts

When you buy a new guitar you need to buy a good guitar case so that the instrument is protected. Soft guitar cases are the perfect choice for those who wont be doing a lot of travelling with their instruments. Another advantage of these cases is that they are light weight so they are easy to carry them about if you do decide you take your guitar out. Soft cases are also a fair bit cheaper than hard cases plus they have storage pockets for spare bits and pieces like leads, strings and picks. Soft cases cost about $40 on average, but you will find good cases for as little as $20.

One of the downsides to using these cases is that they are not very good if you are going touring around the country as they don’t offer the neck of the guitar any support. So your guitar is going to get damaged at some point. But the soft case does do a half decent job of protecting against moisture, dirt and dust. When you are using your guitar the soft case can be folded away and stored out of sight in a drawer or cupboard. This also means they take up far less room than a hard guitar case would.

Soft guitar cases are the perfect option if you have just bought a first guitar for your child. Many children, while they love playing the guitar now, will get bored after a while. If this happens with your child then at least you will not have spend a huge amount of money on the guitar and a case. Most of the guitar makers these days supply you with a basic soft case to get your guitar home OK, but generally these are really cheaply made and are not going to last long at all.
