Things That Make Life Easier: Shoe Storage Solutions and Closet Organizers

The array of gadgets for sale is bewildering. It seems like there are at least three plastic products available for any conceivable application, all competing for your attention and your dollar. Many of them are cheaply constructed and shipped tens of thousands of miles from their factory to US soil for conspicuous American consumption, sold at exorbitant markups for consumers to purchase on credit. Most of these products add little value to our lives, and end up doing little more than taking up space in our lives. A few, however, are not only worth their price, but might even be worth their weight in gold in terms of their functionality.
If you’re an adult American female, or you happen to live in the same house (and share the same closet space) with an American woman, you’ve undoubtedly marveled incredulously at the sheer volume of shoes that undoubtedly occupies the lion’s share of the closet. To tame this outrageous but ubiquitous display of consumerism, there are a number of shoe storage solutions available. Most of them take the cubby approach, involving a number of small divided cubes sized perfectly to store a single pair of shoes. Like a highrise apartment for shoes, shoe organizers allow your shoe collection to go from occupying a significant amount of floor space to occupying just a corner. It’s a wonderful invention, available in a wide variety of styles and construction materials. If you can’t spare even that much floor space in your closet, there are also canvas shoe storage solutions available that hang from the top of the closet door.
Another inexpensive product that makes a big difference, believe it or not, is the invention of anti-bacterial bathroom curtains. Normal curtains become almost instantly moldy (particularly in humid regions during the summer months), but anti-bacterial shower curtains keep the mold at bay while keeping your bathroom floor dry.
