Did you know that oil is not the biggest source of revenue for Dubai? It accounts for only 6% of the emirates revenue, while real estate, tourism and other services are the biggest contributors. it was a very smart move for the rulers of the emirate to develop the city with future in mind. This means that when oil reserves are gone, Dubai will already be in a very strong position to have a big revenue stream from other activities. To ensure success, Dubai’s offer is truly differentiated vs. anything else. Say real estate – you could buy property on one of the Palm Islands, which are artificial islands built in the ocean. Or tourism – you have there the tallest building in the world, the most luxorios hotel, big shopping centers, etc. Actually Dubai has quite a lot to offer and you can find here a great article on Dubai.
