Space Saving Options For Your Children’s Bedroom

There are many different bed types that can serve well for your kids bedroom; the most common and popular solution is a bunk bed. It allows two kids to sleep on the bed while it only takes the floor space of one bed. Bunks are in favor with kids because they are viewed not only as bedding but as the place to play and have fun.
While bunks are great, some parents are concerned with their safety due to the presence of the top bunk and hence the possibility of falling off it. If you do worry about it, there is another option – trundle beds. They offer you almost the same functionality as bunks do, but since there is no top bunk, so no risk of falling off. Trundles come in various styles and designs, and it is not difficult, for example to find girl trundle beds or the boy’s trundles.
If you are looking for a cheaper solution or you simply need good bedding for a temporary period, you may want to look at king size futon beds. Futons are not expensive, they can be found under $300 and even $200. They are good if your kids do not mind sleeping closer to the floor, and if you really value the room space. Why king size? The point is that buying two twin futons might be more expensive then getting a single king size futon, which is able to accommodate two kids.
If you want to get a functional bed for one child, check loft beds; they look similar to bunks, but instead of the lower bunk there can be a desk for studies, bookshelves, a TV stand, or sofa – and all this at the cost of one bed space! Loft beds are great but are more suitable for elder kids and teenagers, because they have all the safety issues the bunks have. In any case, if you plan to get a bunk bed, just check its safety:
- The presence of guard rails on top bunk:
- The properly positioned and fixed ladder;
- The sturdiness of the beds frame;
- And of course the beds comfort level.
