Smart Showerheads

In the morning, do you jump in the shower and switch the water on? No way, the water would be freezing right? Not if you buy a super expensive water thermostat unit for your shower though. Too much money? Well, some new showerheads are now coming with automatic shut offs. ‘Why would I want the water to shut off?’ you’re probably asking. That was my first thought when I heard of it. Well, it’s simple. You turn the water on and instead of walking away and doing something else and coming back to it later to find out it’s been warm, or waiting at the shower sticking your hand in and out of it for a couple minutes until it gets warm, the showerhead will let you know once it’s warm by shutting off. Then you step in, pull the activation chain to trigger the water to come out, and you get warm water.

Also, the newest showerheads advertise anti-clogging nozzles. What does that mean, and how can you tell if they’re anti-clogging? The nozzles will be made out of pliable material if they are anti-clogging. With the old ones, when you’d get a clog, you’d need to stick a pin in them and move it around in an attempt to open it up. With the pliable nozzles you simple move them around with your fingers and they’re open again.
