For most people protecting their family, home, and things close to them is an important priority. With the need of security one way to protect the people you love and your property is by using sliding window locks. Not only do these locks keep people out, but they can prevent young children from getting out and possibly injuring themselves. However, all sliding window locks are not created equally. There are many different kinds of locks for sliding windows. Two of these locks include sash stoppers and sash window locks.
Sash stoppers are locks that are usually used for entry with a key. They are most like sash window locks for windows in your home. Sash stoppers allow a window to part enough to get breezes in the room, but they stop at a particular point to keep would be potential robbers out and people in. They are durable in their design. There is not a need for extra tools to install them; because of this these locks come recommended, that at least two of them be used.
Sliding window guards allow up to four inches of space for letting a breeze into a room. These locks are held in place on the window track. To lock the lock, the lever must be pushed down to the lock position. To change the lock it must be in up position. This lock is the most secure, but if the lever would break, this would allow simple access to the window and the home.
There are several choices when choosing sliding window locks. The strongest lock on for sale is the sash stopper. There are new technological innovations being developed every day for locks. New keyless entry systems will be the technology of the future. For now there are some tried and true methods to take into consideration.
