Saving Money on Cheap Mattresses and Toppers

If you are searching for a new mattress set for the master bedroom or you want a plush re-fit for the guest room in your house, you probably wouldn’t be in the market for cheap mattresses, but there are certainly some situations where we can save money.

For example if we are live in an apartment and we want the facility to put up visitors for a night we can look at futons or air mattresses as an alternative to a permanent bed solution, as these items can provide the functionality we are after without the expense or the use of a lot of space.

Air mattresses fold away and can be kept in the closet when not needed, so they are great for grabbing during an emergency when you need a quick bed set up for an unexpected visitor. Just pull out from the wardrobe, inflate using the pump to the level of firmness or softness you require, then add a couple of pillows and a comforter, pull out the bed in a bag from the closet too and you have a bed ready in less than 5 minutes

Futons have traditionally been popular solutions for students for similar reasons of cost and space-efficiency. They are cheaper than standard mattresses and can also double up as chairs or sofas when not needed as a bed.

Another way to save money is, if you have a mattress that retains a decent shape but is no longer as comfortable as you would like, buy a cheap memory foam mattress topper instead of replacing the whole mattress. These are much cheaper than full sets and are available in all the latest comfort materials like memory foam and latex. They come in a selection of thicknesses and will sit on top of an existing innerspring mattress and rejuvenate it, at a fraction of the cost of replacing it.
