Portable Printer – Does It Come In Different Colors?

Posted by in Computers & Technology

If you’re in the market for a portable printer, but you’re looking for something colorful, you’ll have a great selection as long as you like matte black or a white/silver color. Now that may seem a little limiting, but before you write off portable printers as too boring, let’s take a look at what you’re really looking for.

There are essentially two classes of portable printers: general and photo. For general portable printers, there are two clear winners; Canon and HP. Canon’s printers tend to be a little smaller and lighter while HP’s trend on the larger and more robust side, although any real differences when compared to desktop printers are negligible. Canon’s portable printers come in a white or silver color, while HP has gone with its business roots and opted for a nice basic black

When people start to take a look at the photo-specific area of portable printers, that’s when the color options start to open up. There are a number of companies in addition to Canon and HP making photo-specific portable printers. Why? They are small, easy to carry and great to take on vacation if you’re traveling somewhere with extended family members. Some of these printers don’t even need to be connected to a computer; just plug in your digital camera’s memory card and print away.

Photo portable printers are available in a much wider range of colors. Canon and HP both are represented here with Canon having several models that blend their white with some colorful choices and HP getting a little colorful as well. Polaroid has several models and colors to choose from, as do Kodak and Epson. Dell has a new photo printer that doesn’t actually use ink and is available in several different colors, too.

If you’re looking for a colorful portable printer and you want a photo printer then you’re in luck. If you’re looking for a more general portable printer, your choices are going to be between classic black and timeless silver/white. Good shopping!
