Outdoor Games for Your Parties

If you throw backyard parties, picnics or barbecues with any frequency then you know how important it is to keep guests entertained. While it’s essential to have a full cooler and plenty of burgers and hotdogs, it’s just as important to have a variety of outdoor games to play at your parties. So if your sick of playing horseshoes and throwing a frisbee around, check out these new outdoor games that are exploding in popularity.

Cornhole

One of the most popular outdoor games played nationwide is a game called Cornhole. Set up a lot like horseshoes, with Cornhole you have bags filled with corn that you throw at a wooden platform. There’s a hole in the platform and if you get it in the hole you get three points while if it just lands on the platform you get one. This game is both incredibly simple yet challenging and is great for all ages.

Kan Jam

Another great game to play is Kan Jam. This game uses a frisbee and attempt to get it into a can. As hard as it is sounds, you get some help from your partner who is standing on the same side as the can and he can uses his hands to redirect the frisbee into the can. If you get it in on your own it’s an instant win (pretty hard to do) but if your partner helps you hit it in it’s 3 points, and if it only hits the side it’s 2 and if it hits the side with your partners help it’s one. This game is incredibly fun and fast paces as you’ll find that most games don’t last much longer than 5-10 minutes.

Bear Pong

Another fun new game is Bear Pong. This game follows the rule of the drinking game beer pong, yet with out the beer. It also uses oversized “cups” that look like flowerpots and a white plastic kids ball. This is another quick game so long as your throw is on and it will have you and your guests having fun for hours on end.
