Misting Nozzles Are Useful Little Sprayers

The humble looking mist nozzle may appear to be too inconsequential to be given an important role in large scale operations but the fact is that this little water spray device is an extremely useful piece of equipment. Not only is it important in agriculture, food storage and the mining industry, it is now part of the domestic cooling industry too.

Misting systems can come in the form of long water lines that are fitted with misting nozzles at regular intervals. Alternatively you might spot them as large misting fans that look like over-sized fans that are fitted with a series of nozzles seated in front of the fan blades. Both of these methods provide an extremely effective and efficient method of cooling in outdoor situations.

For quite some time now misting systems have been regularly used to control the humidity in greenhouses and in wine storage barrel rooms. The same technology is used to prolong the viable storage life of fruit and vegetables. In each of these situations the fine mist spray provides much needed moisture content in the air that is then put to use by the plants, wine barrels or foods that are being stored.

Just as effective is the way in which fine mist sprays are used in industries where large quantities of dust are generated as part of the manufacturing process. The perfect example of this is in the mining industry where just about every step along the way of digging the minerals out of the ground to dumping the tailings in a heap produces more and more dust. By spraying a fine mist over the top of the fugitive dust that hangs in the air, the dust can be quickly brought to the ground.

The misting systems used in all of these cases are inexpensive to operate and use only small quantities of water. There are no negative impacts created by the operation of the system and the maintenance requirements are few. All in all the use of a misting system makes a lot of sense.
