Material Underlay Used With Laminate Flooring

When installing cheap discount bamboo laminate flooring, there are several different underlays that you can use and each has a different purpose. One of these is a material underlay that comes in a roll. To lay this underlay you need to cut several lengths that together are long enough to reach across the room and wide enough when laid side by side to cover the width of the room. The purpose of this underlay is to stop any noise from the floorboards hitting the sub floor underneath if there are any small gaps between the two. A second purpose is to help insulate the flooring so that if the sub floor is cold, that coldness will be retarded by the underlay and not transfer into the flooring.
