Make Inexpensive Wooden Centerpieces For Your Rustic Wedding

Rustic weddings can be so romantic. If the bride and groom are both outdoorsy people, it can be a great expression of something that brought the two together. There are a lot of things that you can so with a rustic wedding. One of the best parts is that many options are inexpensive, using items that you can find easily outside. One great idea I saw recently at a wedding was to make a log centerpiece as a holder for various rustic items. Here are some instructions and ideas on how to adapt this idea if you are handy.

First, you’ll want some logs. You will want them six to eight inches in diameter, and about the same height. Any higher will obstruct the view of guests over the table. Next, you will want to drill into the log while it is standing on one end. The size of the drill bit and how deep you will want to go will depend on what you want to put inside. Here are some ideas to get you started.

The most traditional idea would be to put flowers in it. To do this, you would need to drill holes wide enough to put a glass down in, since the log may not hold water. Then, fill it with the flowers of your choice, whether they be white, or if you want a pink and green wedding theme expressed in them.

Another traditional idea is to put a tea light candle in it. You could actually put a tea light candle on top in a glass holder, but there is more sophistication to inserting the holder into a hole drilled down in. If you will be using candles, be sure that you have someone that will go around to light them right before the reception starts.

The final idea is probably the most custom to a rustic themed wedding. You could drill a hole about the size that you would need for a vase. Then, you could collect interesting shaped sticks that you place into the hole. Each will create an interesting structure and will be unique to your wedding.
