With the presence of modern technology, some teenagers just spend most of their time at home playing video games with the use of internet and personal computer. As a parent, you wouldn’t have to wonder where your kid went every now and then. However, the sad part here is that they do not interact and socialize anymore. With the presence of video games, children tend to be less family oriented as well. This is also the very reason why you don’t see children and teenagers enjoying outing anymore. They believe that video games are more exciting compare to appreciating nature.
Technology has given this generation the gift of modernity wherein most people tends to abuse. The real people to blame are the abusive users and not the video game creators because for one, the control is still in your hand. You cannot blame technology as a source of distraction. With the presence of video games, group of friends do not have to personally meet up to play games. They can simply go online and go to a specific link wherein they can play and interact virtually. Some parents say that video games are much safer. However, just like any other things in the world, moderation is a must because anything that is done excessively will sure to give bad effect to both the adults and the kids.
There is no actual age as to when a parent can introduce video games to their kids. The introduction of video games varies depending on the personality, character and attitude of the kid. It is essential to establish the essence of discipline and ones self control first so that as a parent you wouldn’t have to reprimand your child every now and then. Make sure that your child knows his priorities first. Set some limitations as to how much and when he can only play. Explain to your kid that video games are only done during his spare time.
