Kennel Panels

If you aren’t that good of a handyman, but you need to put up a fence around your dog kennel and run, there is a solution. Most major home improvement stores sell kennel panels that actually bolt together. They are usually either five feet or six feet high, and they come in sizes of five, six, ten or twelve feet.
You can choose what gauge you want the wire to be, depending on the size and strength of your dog. The bigger your dog, the heavier and thicker the wire should be, or otherwise you will have problems with an escaping dog!
The obvious advantage to using kennel panels is that they are portable. If you no longer need them, they are very easy to take down. If you move house, you can very simply take apart the panels and move them to your new location.
As with all kennel fencing, you may need to make modifications to the bottom area if your dog has a tendency to dig. A simple way to deter a dog from digging his way out of this type of kennel is to dig a trench the size your fencing will be, line it with either cinder stones or big rocks, and then fill it back over again. If you sit the kennel panels on top of that your dog won’t be able to dig himself out to freedom.
