If you are having a hard time choosing the best grout cleaner for your tiles and grouts, then this guide might be able to help you finally choose the right grout cleaner for your bathroom and kitchen tiles and grouts.
Basically, tile and grout cleaner are classified into two categories, the commercial grout cleaners, and organic grout cleaners. Commercial grout cleaners are those grout cleaners sold in the stores, manufactured by cleaning companies. The main feature of a commercial grout cleaner is that; it has chemicals in it that cleans, disinfects and restores the original color of your tiles and grouts. Commercial grout cleaners have two subdivisions, the mild commercial grout cleaners and strong commercial grout cleaners. Mild grout cleaners are used for regular cleaning, as it contains only mild chemicals that maintain the cleanliness and the original form of your grouts and tiles. While, strong grout cleaners are recommended for heavy tile and grout cleaning, they contain a lot of strong chemicals that incredibly fights off germs, dirt and other bacteria build up in your tiles and grouts. One should be careful in using strong grout cleaners as they may over-bleach your tiles and grouts, losing its’ original color.
On the other hand, the other category of grout cleaners which are organic grout cleaners are the total opposites of commercial grout cleaners. Organic grout cleaners are made with pure and natural materials that don’t contain any chemicals. These materials have cleaning and bleaching effects within their systems which makes them as good cleaning agents. Furthermore, organic materials are often called home-made grout cleaners because they are made with materials that can be seen from common household. Some of these natural materials include; salt, baking soda, lemon, borax, vinegar, and etc.
If in the end you’re still confused with what grout cleaner to use, then I suggest you to use a steam grout cleaner instead. Steam cleaners can be classified between the two, as they just use steam to vaporize dirt and bacteria on your tiles and grouts, although, sometimes chemical cleaners and deodorizers are added to the cleaner.
