How To Start Corset Training

Posted by in Men's and Women's Fashion

A tiny waist has been a coveted feature for hundreds of years. For some women, careful diet and exercise can produce the wasp waisted look they desire, but what about those who want something a little more extreme? Corset bustiers may be the answer.

A corset bustier may be made with either a hook-and-eye closure, or lace up straps. Either style will whittle your waist and push your bustline upward, but the lace up styles will enable you to do corset training. Corset training involves gradually tightening the straps on your corset, until your waist is re-molded into a tiny hourglass shape.

To begin your training, choose a corset that is adjustable to at least five inches below your current waist size. Buy at least two corsets, so you’ll have one to wear while the other is being washed. Wear your corset every day, for as long as possible, and bring in the waist size by one inch per week.

If you’re comfortable reducing your waist size faster than one inch per week, it’s fine to do so, but by reducing slowly, you’ll give your body more time to adjust. Gradually, your body will start to take on the corseted shape even when you aren’t wearing a corset. Following a low-fat diet and getting regular cardio will speed your results.

Some women find that after a certain point, they can no longer reduce their waist with a corset. Depending on your bone structure, diet, and the amount of muscle in your abdominal region, you may find that 24 inches is as low as you can get your waist measurement. This is normal, and should be expected. While corset training can cause drastic changes to your figure, it shouldn’t be used as a permenant solution to your weight problems. It can, however, help you look fabulous while waiting for diet and exercise to have an effect.
