Fireplace doors are unquestionable a fantastic safety feature, but they also are great for saving on your energy bill. If you have a fireplace with a chimney and there are no fireplace doors, then heat from your home is constantly escaping up the chimney and cool air is coming in during the winter. The result is that you are forced to heat all the space in your chimney wasting energy and increasing your bill. The same is true in the summer when you are cooling the hot air in your chimney and using more electricity than should b necessary. Fireplace doors close off this area so that you do not have to heat it. In addition, you can purchase fireplace doors with blower so that the heat from your burning fire is blown into the room and heating it more efficiently. This will also save you money because you will not have to heat the house as much since some heat will be coming from the fire.
