How to Put Together a Hip Hop Song
Our discussion starts at the point where you have suddenly been hit by the inspiration to come up with a hip hop song. It is a song you hope will propel you to stardom. It is a song you hope will proper you to financial freedom. And as such, you want to get it right. So, how do you go about putting together a hip hop song?
Well, when you come to think of it keenly, you will realize that every hip hop song has three components. It has the lyrics, the tune and the instrumentals (the parts done by musical instruments).
The lyrics are the words of the song. You have no alternative but to come up with these – because otherwise, the song won’t be validly termed as yours. As an aspiring hip hop artist, it is important that you pay close attention to the composition of your lyrics. That is because, in hip hop, the lyrics matter a great deal. They have to be inspiring lyrics. They have, in many cases, to be ‘rhyming’ lyrics. And they have to be lyrics which conform to other ‘hip hop conventions.’
You can ‘borrow’ the tune, but if you want to come up with a truly original hip hop song, you should ideally come up with yours.
If you have a computer, and you have installed on it a beat maker software program, you can use it to come up with beats to handle the instrumental bits of your new hip hop song. In case you don’t have such beat maker software, you will have to do this (instrumentals) part of your song with real musical instruments. But as a budding hip hop artist, you may find the latter option unaffordable. Yet there is no reason as to why you shouldn’t have such software, for there is even free beat maker software available from some sites.
