How to Potty Train your Dog

It is easy to be to caught up in the cuteness of your new puppy that you don’t even think about how much work he is going to be. New puppies have to go to the restroom almost constantly. As soon as they wake up, after a round of playing and pretty much at least every two hours you should make sure the puppy has used the restroom. Dogs should not use the restroom in places they view as their resting area.
It may be useful to use dog kennels to confine the puppy when you are not playing with him. This may be hard at first because you might feel bad for putting the cute little puppy in the kennel. The puppy will probably also cry. This is a critical point in your puppies development. If you do not introduce the kennel in a good light the puppy will never have good feelings associated with the kennel. He will always see it as a bad place. When you introduce the kennel you should do it gradually. At first put everything good you want to give to your puppy in the kennel, toy treats, you can even feed him in there.
Make sure to do this when he is not looking. Eventually your puppy will see the kennel as a good place. Make sure that you never put your puppy in the kennel as a punishment because this will only go against what you are trying to accomplish. You must remember to get up in the middle of the night so your puppy won’t soil his area, he only has a small bladder after all. It may be hard to have patience, your puppy may eventually start to not look so cute to you. The good thing is that they learn fast if you stay consistent, and they grow fast so it won’t be long before they will be able to go to the restroom when they should. Really, you are getting out easy babies take a lot longer to train!
