How to Keep Mildew off Your Towels
Posted by GuestPoster in -Home Cleaning
If you ever had problems with mildew on your towels, you will know that it smells kind of gross. If you don’t deal with the mildew right away, it can eat its way through your towels and destroy them.
Mildew is generally caused by wet towels being left in areas of the house where there is dark and damp environment. In addition, these tiles are generally soiled, and the mildew has something to cling to when it starts growing. If you want to prevent mildew from growing in your tiles, make sure that you hang them up after using them. If tiles are allowed to sit in piles when they are wet, they can quickly develop mildew smells and even stains. Mildew can wear out towels and start to eat them. When mildew spreads and becomes really bad, it actually will rot whatever it is infecting. If you want your towels to look nice and to last longer, you should keep them dry or at least hang them out to dry when you are done using them.
Also, be careful not to leave your towels in the washer for several days. This will also develop mildew problems. There are basically two different ways to get rid of mildew. The first thing you can do is to use a natural mildew remover. This means that you may want to take your towels out and hang them on a line or let them dry in the sun. Sunlight is a natural mildew remover because it can kill mildew. Another way to get rid of the mildew is to re-wash your towels and make sure to add a little bit of bleach or a little bit of mildew removal solution to your load. As it washes, the mildew remover will kill the fungus that causes mildew growth and will clean your towels. Make sure that as soon as you’re done washing the towels, you throw them in the dryer and dry them completely.
