If you play basketball or volleyball you can benefit from learning how to jump higher. Learning how to increase your vert is a science that has been studied for many years. Jump height is a combination of both speed and strength which is power. To develop the strength of your legs a simple workout routine will do. Stick to movements that will help with a jumping motion such as squats. You also want to focus more on doing lower reps with a little more speed than the traditional slow reps. Once you can squat your weight on the bar 8 times in 8 seconds you are ready to move onto the speed training for the legs. The tendos in the human body have stretch sensore in them. This means when they feel a stretch their natural reaction is to contract. So when you bend your knee to jump, the patellar tendon of you knee will feel that stretch and tell the knee to straighten. This reaction is what you want to train by doing plyometrics.
