Guide to Five Popular Toy Dog Breeds

Toy dogs are wonderful companions, and these are just a few of my favorites for anyone
who can’t have or doesn’t want a large breed companion.
1. Shih Tzu. I love these guys because they think they own the world. Go
everywhere do everything kind of dogs, this breed makes a super pet and they excel at
everything, even obedience.
2. Pug. Super little rock solid dogs, also little tough guys and a short haired
variety to boot.
3. Toy Poodle. Little versions of big hunting dogs, they make excellent little
guard dogs, and will tell a stranger to beat it if they are stealing your TV. Also, a
hypoallergenic breed with no shedding to the coat, good for people with dog allergies.
4. Pekinese. Not quite as labor intensive a coat as the Shih Tzu, they are a
unique personality all their own.
5. Pomeranians. First dog in space! Easy to see why so many people adore these
little barkers, no one is sneaking in your house without them letting you know it.
