If you were to do a heat audit on your house, you would likely find that the greatest loss of heat is through your garage. This problem is fairly extensive throughout North America as most garage door manufacturers do not produce insulated garage doors. Garage door insulation is practically a must where winters are cold. Think of it this way, if your garage is at -10°F, then the rooms that are beside or above or below the garage are going to have to be heated extra long to ward off that cold air. Then as you get into summer, and the garage begins to heat up, the reverse occurs. That is, the heat from your garage will cause your air conditioning to run extra long to try and keep those rooms adjacent to your garage cool. If you are looking for a way to save costs on your energy bills, garage door insultation is the way to do it.
