Five Tips About Fixing Vertical Blinds
Posted by GuestPoster in -Home and Furnishings
Vertical blinds are known to be one of the most affordable and attractive forms of window coverings on the market today. They are available in an array of materials that will complement any look: wood, faux wood, woven wood, vinyl, sheer, and bamboo. Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail in vertical blinds is what they are known more. With this type of blinds, less is more and the look never under delivers.
If you already own vertical blinds, you know the benefits of having them in your home and what a joy they are to have. If you’ve ever encountered a slight problem with them, though, as the slats are so delicate, here are some simple tips to help you repair them:
- Be preventative. The first thing that you can do is to be careful and gentle with the vertical blinds at all times.
- Use finger strength. If the blinds are not turning as they should, carefully check the slats to make sure they are all lined up correctly and in the same direction. If one is not, use your finger to gently tap the vertical blind back into place. This is often all that is needed to fix them.
- Turn the Stem. If all the vertical blinds are facing the right direction but only one is not turning, then gently turn the stem at the top of the vertical blind to click back into place. Make sure you do not turn the slat or else the slat will break off from the stem. Be very gentle as you handle the stem as well.
- Use Pliers. If the stem will not turn just by your finger, remove the slat and use a pair of pliers to put the vertical blind stem back into line with the others. You can put the slat right back into the stem once it has been realigned.
- Call Budget Blinds. If the above guidance will not work, then call Budget Blinds to come out to your home or office and assess if new window treatments are necessary.
