These are usually made of some kind of foam and are easy to carry and store. These are kind of an all purpose target and might be a good way to start out.
Another portable option is to get a bag target. They basically fit over existing objects such as a trash can. They tend to work best with your carbon arrows. The bag material just has some synthetic materials stuffed inside to stop the arrows. They are very easy to replace.
If you already have a target and just need to recover the target, then you can buy some laminate mats. These are good for covering up existing structures. Also, they work really well for your kids to play with.
If you are a bow hunter, then you might want to get a target that represents the kind of animal that you want to hunt. It’s important to use a similar target, because you need to get used to aiming and hitting the animal in a particular location on the body. Typically with bow hunting, you might only get one shot to take your prey down. It’s best to get some practice in with lifelike targets.
