Curio cabinets are typically designed for display of personal collectibles. Usually made of glass, these have glass doors. Curio cabinets can also be designed as corner shelves with their back angled to flash along walls to form a corner. It offers the usual advantage associated with any corner shelf; saving of floor space. If a curio cabinet that is not fixed in a corner on the wall but left on floor in a corner of the room, like a caddy corner, the floor space beneath it can’t be put to any use.

Any shelving cannot be designed as corner shelving. For instance, it will not be logical to have a corner shelving for books as the space created by corner is left non-utilized. Likewise, a china cabinet or hutch would create similar limitations.

If your room lacks formality then consider a more dramatic curtain design.
