Decorative Collector Plates
Posted by GuestPoster in Collectibles
I have recently been adding to my collection of decorative plates. It was passed down to me from a close relative and I’ve just now come to be able to add to the quantity and quality that I have on display. So far, the showpiece is a wonderful Cloisonne enamel plate from Japan that was produced in the early 1900s. The beautiful red color of the background is shockingly bright and serves well to show off the handsome paintings of birds resting on tree branches. Before making this purchase, I was probably most proud of a Gofer Isreal plate that was given to me as a gift. I’m sure that my friend paid a nice premium for such a find plate, but I have to say that my new purchase is my current favorite. If you are considering starting any kind of collection, I can heartily recommend decorative collector plates. They often appreciate in value over time and they do a wonderful job of beautifying your home.
