Cupcake Party Planning Tips

Anybody who have ever had to throw together a party knows that it can be more complicated than it seems. If you are trying to provide both some cute decorations and some food for your guests, the job can balloon out of proportion, and trying to get the food to match the theme can be a difficult chore. We have a simple solution that will work for almost any simple get together, whether you are planning a baby shower, a Halloween party, or an office Christmas party.
To simplify things, we recommend using cupcakes. Cupcakes are already decorated in most cases, and they are easy to customize according to your theme, so they serve both as decorations and as food! If you are throwing a Halloween party, simply use some Halloween colors such as black, orange, or purple (although your guest may be put off by black icing!). Frost the cakes in the colors you have chosen and then decide if you want to use some other type of decoration on top. This could be the black and orange M&Ms that come out around Halloween, or such things as gummi worms. You could also use some simple plastic Halloween picks with scary figures like ghosts or mummies to decorate the top. Whichever cupcake decorations you choose will be fine because cupcakes are a very casual thing, and nobody expects a cupcake to look perfect!
Now to create a centerpiece for the party. Once again, we are going to use the cupcakes. To create some drama and flair, we recommend creating a tower of cupcakes in the center of your table. This could be some tiers you put together yourself, or it could be one of the many commercially available cupcake stands. If you buy a stand, try to find one that is collapsible, as that will allow for easy storage.
