Coordinating a Cluttered Kitchen

Clutter crops up in the most popular rooms of the house. Do you ever find clutter in that spare bedroom that you only use when the in-laws come for a visit? The answer is probably a resounding “No”. The kitchen, on the other hand, which is the most utilized room, always seems to capture all of the school papers, loose mail, magazines, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Taking a stand against clutter and for organization in your kitchen takes a little bit of focus and little help from some simple storage solutions.
Even though your cabinets may look beautiful on the outside they may be jammed to the brim with every kitchen and food-related item imaginable on the inside. It’s easy to avoid this problem because it is behind closed doors but once they are opened it’s hard to avoid that you have a clutter issue. If you make it a point to clean out each cabinet, one by one, from the bottom shelf to the top shelf, this is the best way to start. Throw out everything that you don’t need or possibly donate any canned goods that are not being consumed, to a local soup kitchen. Before you put everything back into the cabinets, pick up some kitchen cabinet storage organizers. They may come in the form of a turntable, lazy Susan, spice carousel, or even tiered storage. The choices and options are varied so find what best suits your needs and your cabinets will shape up nicely.
The countertop in a kitchen is another area of major clutter. Once you have cleared off the countertop and can actually see those beautiful countertops that you invested good money for, you can start working toward counter space organization. Storage solutions like a kitchen utensil holder or a set of canisters will help you easily find what you need for preparing your meal. You can store all of your much-used kitchen accessories like spatulas, wooden fork and spoon, or ladles in your new utensil holder. And your canister sets can hold your common dry goods like sugar and flour. You can then move onto your kitchen drawers and repeat the same process. Drawer organizers and dividers will also let you organize a cluttered jumble of various items which may not necessarily even be associated with your kitchen.
Coordinating a kitchen that is cluttered requires some attention. Once you take that step toward ridding clutter from the most popular room of your house you may make it a point to keep it that way.
