Computer Virus Risks – Beware of BearShare

Thousands of people get their computer’s infected everyday with various viruses, spyware and other Malware. After a reading an article on this blog I found, The Best Anti Virus Software, I realized that I was engaging in activity that put my computer at greater risks for getting viruses. BearShare, which is a person 2 person file sharing site. I was able to share my files and get access to other people’s files, which was great, but I wound up getting a virus. I did not know where it came from, but after reading an article on the above referenced site, I realized that I had gotten it from another person’s computer through BearShare.
I have since cancelled my account from and my virus software was able to clean the virus off my computer. I was curious to see if other’s had experienced the same thing, so I searched Google for reviews of BearShare and found out that many others had gotten viruses from there as well, and some of them were much more severe than mine and ruined people’s computers.
The lesson here is that it’s important to not put my computer at risk and be careful with free files and never go to these sites that provide person 2 person file sharing.
