Color in Your Breakfast Nook

Because of the many windows, the breakfast nook is usually a bright place. The natural light inspires lightheartedness and as a result, light colors are usually used in the breakfast nook. If you have a wooden table, then more often than not it is of a light color like oak. Other tables add a light touch by having a tile border or center inlaid into the table. The tiles are usually plain white or white with small patterns. Even if you have a darker wood, the light colored tiles give the right feeling. The one exception might be if you have an extremely modern home. Modern decorating often employs black and white in the color scheme and if you have a home decorated in this manner then a black breakfast nook is not out of the question. You might have a black metal table and chairs with glass tops. Black furniture only works if you are carrying over a theme from your kitchen and have lots of black in there as well.
