Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Thoughts

Chapter 7 Bankruptcies are the easiest form of Bankruptcy for a bankruptcy attorney. The goal of the attorney is to discharge you from all debt while allowing you to keep almost all of your property. The attorney may not have a choice but to offer up to a trustee your camper or fishing boat if it is paid off. However, my bankruptcy attorney was able to exempt my camper and most of my equity in my home allowing me to discharge most of my unsecured debt while keeping my home and vehicles. The key is to finding the right attorney. In my case having a Michigan Chapter 7 Bankruptcy attorney really didn’t matter because the state of Michigan follows federal guidelines and does not provide much protection for the debtor.
