Cat Scratch Post

I love that old song “cat scratch fever” because it accurately describes our cats and their claws. I must see our cats at the cat scratch post a hundred times a day. They are addicted to the post.
Our post is a simple homemade post made from a piece of firewood and a flat piece of wood nailed together. Of all the many, many scratchers we’ve purchased it, there are only two favorites our cats will use regularly. While it took a while to find them, it saved our sofa.
Cats choose their toys and scratchers very carefully. It may take a few different tries to find the one your cat will use. I suggest using simple homemade scratcher to begin with.
Use old wood and carpet to piece together a stable cat scratch post for you little ones. If that doesn’t work, try the cheap turbo cat scratcher. They cost as little as $12 and are a favorite of many cats, including ours.
