There are walkie talkies on the market which are both designed for toddlers and there are devices designed for high tech professionals in multiple industries. Choosing the right walkie talkie is an art at its best however keeping a few basic pointers in mind you should be able to narrow down the right walkie talkie quite easily.

The first thing you have to keep in mind in buying a walkie talkie is who are you are buying it for and what their use of it will be. For instance, if you are buying a walkie talkie for yourself and you work in a professional industry where a walkie talkie will help you work in a safer and more productive environment then you may want to pay a premium for the best walkie talkie you can find.

Conversely, if you are a parent looking for a device that your young child can both play with but also serve as a functional tool around the house then you probably don’t want a professional grade walkie talkie. Walkie talkies designed with children in mind are always going to be a bit more durable in that they are expected to be dropped and beat up quite a bit by rambunctious kids. There are of course middle of the road walkie talkie which is likely the best bet for anyone who doesn’t need a two way radio professionally but does need a quality device with multi-channel functionality and long range potential. The ability to accommodate accessories like a headset or a shoulder mic are important as these features often come in handy when you least expect to need them.

The price of walkie talkie does appreciate quite rapidly once you get past the basic features but if you are going to spend money on a set of walkie talkies that both you and your family are going to use and play with you might as well pay a bit more for a higher end set of devices.
