Butting Heads About How To Redesign Our Master Bedroom

My husband and I decided it was time to update our bedroom so I decided to start looking for master bedroom decorating ideas. But, here is the problem. We both have different ideas of how we wanted the room to look once it’s finished.
I am a more modern person. I like sleek, clean lines and bright colors like lime green and teal blue. I started looking at bedroom furniture made from more plastic materials. I found one in particular that I really liked that was a black onyx color with circular patterns in the headboard. But, this isn’t what my husband wants.
He is more of the outdoor, rustic personality. He likes rooms that are paneled in hard wood with quilts and antlers. If he had his way, we would redecorate our room to look similar to the cabin we go to in the northern woods of Wisconsin every year for his birthday.
We argued back and forth about this for a few weeks. I would bring up how wonderful I thought it would be to wake up and see the cheerful, bright colors staring back at me. He thought the bright colors would not be restful, and wasn’t that the purpose of a bedroom? He had a point, but the last thing I wanted was wood paneling and deer antlers.
So we settled this like adults. We flipped a coin. Heads and I would get the room I wanted and tails, he would get what he wanted. I won and I have never been so happy to win a coin toss in my life! I designed the room and decided to change the colors to softer blues and greens in order to win him over, which really worked.
It has been a few months now since we updated our bedroom and my husband told me that he really was starting to like the room more and more as time goes on.
