Butcher Blocks Leave the Kitchen!

If you banish your butcher block kitchen cart to the kitchen, you’re wasting a number of opportunities to let this versatile piece of kitchen furniture shine. Because the carts generally come with four wheels, you can push them from room to room with a comfortable ease. You can load up the cart with grilling supplies and push it from the kitchen and onto your deck. Or you can stash a few bottle of wine, glasses, and plates of cheese onto the cart and wheel everything out to the living room for a delicious wine and cheese party. If you want to keep the preparation time down to a minimum, don’t slice the cheese ahead of time. Instead, grab a couple different blocks of hard cheese and a knife or two and let your guests cut their own slices at their leisure and on demand. Watch out for stairs though because most butcher block kitchen carts won’t handle them well.
