Become an Interior Designer

Do you know what you want to do with your life? It’s hard! Many students enter college and don’t have a focus, or their focus changes repeatedly. Some students graduate and still haven’t found that focus! Are you creative? Do you love style? Have you ever considered interior design? You may not know how to be an interior designer. Just like most careers these days, a college degree is a requirement to get with an established company. There are many colleges to choose from, The Art Institute, Academy of Art or even your local college or university will likely have an interior design program.
There are a few key elements to be a successful interior designer. To start you need to develop your attention to details, not just to the creative side but also to the technical side. Missing an important detail could cause your design to fail. Your design must not only look nice but it must be functional as well. You always have to look for new inspiration and keep an eye out for trends. An example of a new popular trend could be modern interior design. So for example you would need to know how to design a modern living room. You will need to know the design elements of a modern design and how to effectively achieve the look without going overboard. For a modern design its all about sleek, clean lines and keeping the space open and uncluttered.
