Become A Contractor To Lose Weight

Posted by in Business

The many reasons for becoming a contractor include everything from higher income potential to greater schedule control, but there’s one that many people overlook.  Many people become a contractor to get away from a boring desk job, and that transition often leads to such a dramatic increase in physical activity that major weight loss results!

This isn’t the case for everyone, obviously, because many people are already in good condition before leaving their desk job, but for those who are very overweight the health improvement is quite often shocking.  Results also will vary based on what sort of contractor you become.  Common sense would tell you that a contractor who has to exert himself more often will see a greater benefit from this phenomenon.  A landscaping worker, for example, will probably burn more calories than an electrician.  An electrician, though, is still likely to be in much better physical shape than a desk jockey who spends eight hours a day sitting down.

So if you’re already on the fence about whether to quit your job and start your own contracting business maybe this will help you make that decision.  There’s more to life than money and time management freedom.  Most important is your health and the health of your family.
