When you need some great baby shower cake ideas the first step is to bake the cake according to the package directions. Once the cake is cool it needs to be leveled. If you see that the cake has risen in the middle, take a large knife and just slice off the top of the cake until it looks level. Once you do that the cake should be cut into equal-sized squares. Have available an assortment of colored icing, pastel or bright colors. Each individual block needs to be frosted and this is best done with soft icing as to eliminate crumbs. As an added touch, pipe frosting along the edges of the blocks and pipe ABC letters on all sides of the block. Display the cake on a decorative platter by placing the blocks to resemble a tower.
