Are Window Valances a Waste of Money?

Window valances - well worth spending money
Buying window valances can be expensive. Because of that you may think that your money could be better spent elsewhere. After all your curtains or blinds do the job of covering your windows and providing privacy without the need for any other window treatment.
However I do think it’s worth using valances.
They add a special touch to your windows giving them a proper framework which is difficult to achieve with curtains or blinds alone. And they do a fantastic job of covering up ugly curtain poles or rods as well as being a cut above standard curtain headings.
If you use window valances you can potentially get away with using a cheaper heading on your curtain which requires less fabric, thus reducing the overall amount of fabric required. It may not be the case for your windows but it often is.
It’s really your choice. You can have spectacular windows with the help of the best window valances you can afford or just make do with curtains or blinds and use the money for something else.
