Aerobic Vs Anaerobic

Posted by in Health & Fitness

This health and fitness article will explain the difference between aerobic and anaerobic exercise.

Aerobic exercise is the kind of exercise that is designed and intended to increase your health and stamina.  Aerobic exercises are usually high intensity movements over an amount of time.

Things such as running, swimming, cardio classes and stair climbing are all aerobic exercises.

This kind of training is great for your fitness and perfect for trying to loose weight.
Anaerobic exercises are more about building muscle mass and strength.  They are not intense movements over a length of time but are rather heavy load movement in short spouts.

These exercises are all about lifting heavy weights to stimulate muscles into growing.  The effects on fitness and stamina are much less than that of aerobic exercise but the effects on muscle growth is quick and very noticeable.

Select the kind of exercise depending on your reasons for training.
