A Screen Protector For Your Droid

Posted by in Computers & Technology

A screen protector for a Droid or Droid X is a necessity and to make that expensive purchase last they need to be protected. The new touch screen technology phones are cool to look at and use, but for long term operation and satisfaction some care needs to be taken to keep them in good shape. The large touch screen makes up the entire front of the phone and unless you take steps to protect it you know that shortly down the road it will be scratched or scuffed from hitting against chairs while sitting down or worse from dropping it on the pavement.

The pressure sensitive screen will over time and through damage lose it’s ability to function properly and will be greatly annoying if the loss of function occurs right where you need to unlock the phone or slide the green bar across to answer the phone. Hopefully with care and some gentle use the life of the phone will extend to the end of your contract and you will be in position for the cheap upgrade to whatever phone is the newest, hottest phone on the market at that time.

A Droid screen protector needs to effectively cover the entire touch display and you need to be careful to get it on straight. Some of the protectors on the market are too flimsy for ease of installation and some of the cheaper ones are not cut in a perfect rectangle so getting a square installation is impossible. Most of the screen protectors are a one-shot installation so if you screw it up you need a new protector before trying it again. Take your time and clean the screen well before starting installation and then position the protector as squarely as you can over the screen and smooth out any bubbles or small wrinkles that develop. Congratulations, it looks perfect.
