A Low Loft Bed Is Perfect For Children

There is nothing that a small kid finds quite as exciting as moving to the next bed size. I’m looking forward to helping my daughter graduate to a twin bed, but we’re working with a small amount of space. To deal with the space concerns I’m planning on getting her a low loft bed. These great beds can go a long way toward helping a kid get excited about new sleeping arrangements while adding space and a little bit of fun to the room.
What To Put Under A Child’s Half Sized Loft:
Make A Fort – That empty space sitting under a half loft is going to be used by a small child for play almost immediately no matter what you do. Encourage pretending by helping your child set up a permanent fort under the space that can be used for a small personal play area. The setup of these lofts make hanging fabric pretty simple, which can be a great opportunity to let your child pick the decoration they want for their bed fort. For a less hands on approach, this half loft style often is pretty easy find in stores.
Playground Loft – Some lofts designed for children include additions that make them great for active indoor play during the day. I’ve seen lofts with slides near the head of the bed and climbing areas designed to encourage activity. Why not combine a basic child’s loft with simple play accessories that will turn it into the daytime equivalent of a playground, like a climbing wall to get into bed or a ball pit underneath?
Built In Storage – If your child has a small room or shares the space with a sibling, a half loft can be the perfect way to fit the furniture that needs to be there into the area. You can often find these beds sold with options for bookcases, dressers, and desks that are a perfect design and size match for the loft. It is also perfectly fine in many situations to simply put the furniture your child already has under the bed if it makes sense and it will fit. I’m going to be looking into girls loft beds with desk and storage options just to make sure my daughter has room in her bedroom to play.
